"We met at Annandale High
and disliked one another right off the bat. Later we started to grow on one
another in a cool way. Started doing some random recordings of off the cuff
stuff on micro-cassette recorders and tape decks in random locations. Then
we put out 2 releases (a cassette on Moodswing, 2CD set on Mental State),
the later being a reissue with extra crud on it. Then we broke up and became
a new group called LOCAL BACKIFN! " - indyGOkid

indygokid started recording mix tapes
in High School with friends, experimenting with many sounds, noises and
music. Since then he has been part of many groups, taking bits, pieces and
lessons from each. He has experience in many areas including producing for
Matt Thompson and Jothum C.’s solo EP. Indy has written and participated in
the rap groups zOned beef and Local Backfin while working on solo projects
as indyGOkid and Watership Down. Currently he just wrapped up and released
his CD THRTYGRT. While he is not formally trained at any of the instruments
he uses, his vast experience and experimental mindset allows him to move his
own sound forward. Straight out of Rosemont, indyGOkid’s lo-fi,
imbecilic, alternative, rap-rock, sound has been called many things. -
